Microwave Door Glass Is Foggy

If moisture is noticed between the glass allow the microwave door to stand open for approximately 15 minutes to accelerate the dissipation of the moisture.

Microwave door glass is foggy.

It develops when you boil water or heat food with a high moisture content on the stove top below the microwave. I just installed a new kenmore elite advantium 120 microwave in oct of 2007. The seal on the microwave door glass is compromised and allowing moisture and perhaps the microwaves to enter between the windows inner and outer. Even the most elastic flexible seal can t last forever.

The main problem with a foggy sliding glass door is that the gasket is no longer sealed. Heat causes the panes to expand and contract and it softens and weakens the seals until they develop a crack in their armor and allow moist air in. As a result moisture in the infiltrating air can condense when conditions are right colder outer glass against warm air inside the glass panel causing the glass to develop the hazy fogginess that most everyone has seen. Therefore you will need to start out by drilling a hole in the gasket for the moisture to escape.

There is a great potential for leakage here. Remedy this issue by leaving the microwave door open for several minutes until the water evaporates completely. Can the door be taken apart or is it necessary to purchase an entire new door. This occurred if using just the microwave or just the convection or both together.

To keep the windows looking their best use a homemade cleaning solution that cleans the glass and removes the haze without chemicals or other harmful ingredients. This microwave has a major flaw in that it fogs up very quickly across the door viewing window. I would not continue to operate this oven until i have it fixed. This is the simplest fix to the problem but it will only be temporary.

Wipe the moisture off with a paper towel or soft cloth. The window in the door has become cloudy to the point of my having difficulty seeing inside the over when it is on. Eventually a seal will allow moisture to enter the window. The condensation gets between the two layers of door glass and condenses inside this make viewing the cooking food almost impossible.

It allows moisture into the area between the panes. Anybody know of any fixes. The fogginess may come and go depending on weather conditions. Microwaves are dangerous appliance to work on.

Use the vent fan to help prevent moisture from building up.
