And even if the source to be encoded is a live band reel to reel tape or vinyl disc the engineer may choose to only encode for a lower 96khz or 48khz playback and that s the best you can out of the mqa file.
Again this is where mqa really shines.

I haven t done a direct comparison to vinyl but the best vinyl i have heard purely from memory eats mqa.
